Joined 3 years ago from Gilbert, Arizona

Born in Queens NY, raised on Long Island, I Joined the USAF, which offered a wide range of life's lessons, opportunities and perspectives I'd not been exposed to before nor since; Most notably were the people I had come to admire & respect decades hence. My tour of duty venues were New jersey, Okinawa Japan & Indiana, each rewarding & fruitful in their own right. Numerous visitation to additional locations from those points were significant to my personal growth.

Among other reasons, writing allows me to purge my hard drive of pent up storage space. Additionally it serves as an outlet to explore my shortcomings, of which me cup overflowith.

The brutally truthful critique is by far what I value most. Not just in writing, but in my struggle to be a better man. Although I realize I can do better eliciting an emotional response, it remains elusive until reality makes its mark.

"Don't forget that I cannot see myself -- that my role is limited to being the one who looks in the mirror"                Jacques Rigaut

Pet Peeves...I'm not a big fan of the cliche'; yet I accept the fact they're unavoidable & useful. And yes I take pleasure with using the letter 'u' in  such words as... favour, colour & the like. I have a tendency to attempt to place even creative topics into a mathematical equation. Hubpages Stats are a blessing as well as a curse in that respect.

Mr. Dickens is by far my fav author, therefore I respect & heed the warnings of Great Expectations. My fav work is" A Tale of Two cities" fore it contains all the elements which comprise a Dickens' masterpiece.

If this life is indeed a Sideshow, then how we live it, is surely the Main Event.

Perchance there is a God whom favours my undertaking; therefore I'll continue to bang away, patiently awaiting for brillance to strike. I'll be sure to let you know if it ever comes into being.

In the meantime, I will lend voice to my soul...

Before this Bio becomes a hub within itself, I'll close with this; my endeavor is for you to enjoy my presentation as much as I enjoy the conjuring process.

If words are the brushstrokes, then Life itself serves as the Canvas.

A final note; The style I employ is supplemented with quotes, images & music, intended as atmosphere toward expression of tone and of point of view.

In the words of Cyril Connolly; "Better to write for yourself and have no public than to write for the public and have no self."  One can only hope to present an entertaining perspective which provides a lucid position.

Thank you for your comments & critique(s)...gjf

I'm Dreaming of a place so far away

When my 19 year old daughter told me she was going to a concert to see a band, I expressed interest as well as a perfunctory caution because it was in the city. The “hold on loosely” theory doesn't preclude intense worry I assure you. Now, as I’ve expressed, I believe music has a straight shot to the soul; it has the ability to move us where mere words often cannot. When combined with the proper lyrics, heaven does exist on this very earth. Time is a deceptive enigma my friends.
